Description

Location: La Rochelle, France · VAT paid GAELNAUTISME is pleased to offer 33 EXPORT !!! For the 2026 Route du Rhum in the RHUM class !!! A historic offshore racing sailboat classified BIP (boat of heritage interest). An aluminum monohull sailboat and a pioneer of French offshore racing, 33 Export was designed by naval architect André Mauric and built in 1968 by ACNAM. Entered in the 1968 OSTAR, then renamed in 1973, she became one of the few French monohulls to take part twice in the Whitbread Round the World Race (1973-74 and 1977-78), making history as the first French boat to win a leg. Innovative in her design (aluminum hull, adjustable rig, lightness), she embodies the technical advances of the 70s. Having remained true to her original structure, she is currently being restored with a view to historical preservation. Saved in 2018 after 30 years of neglect, she is being reborn thanks to the association Les Amis du 33, which is developing around her a cultural, educational and participatory heritage project. Supported by local partners (Musée Maritime, Yacht Club Classique), 33 Export aims to return to sea for iconic races, while becoming a vehicle for training in maritime trades. Original description
