De Fly 34, ook Mosquito104 genoemd is een Deense klassieker, gebouwd in 1980. Deze sportieve zeiler is ontworpen door het maritiem architectenbureau Elvstrøm & Kjaerulff. In de loop van de jaren is er veel verbeterd en vervangen, onder andere de voortstuwing met motor (Volvo Penta MD2020) en zeilen (grootzeil en fok Hagoort Sails). De tuigage met hoge mast, smalle rompvorm en diepe kiel betekent snel en hoog aan de wind zeilen. Het interieur is eenvoudig maar karakteristiek, met 4 langsbanken en stahoogte.
Het onderwaterschip heeft een coppercoat behandeling gehad en sindsdien geen antifouling meer nodig gehad. Een paar aandachtspuntjes: het toplicht moet nagekeken worden. Er zit een nieuwe lamp in, maar werkt niet goed.

Location: Harlingen, Netherlands · VAT paid The Fly 34, also called Mosquito104, is a Danish classic built in 1980. This sporty sailer was designed by the naval architecture firm Elvstrøm & Kjaerulff. Over the years a lot has been improved and replaced, including the propulsion with engine (Volvo Penta MD2020) and sails (mainsail and jib by Hagoort Sails). The rig with tall mast, narrow hull form and deep keel means fast sailing, pointing high to windward. The interior is simple but characterful, with 4 longitudinal benches and headroom. The underwater hull has had a Coppercoat treatment and has not needed antifouling since. A few points of attention: the masthead light needs to be checked.
